A PENSIONER has complained a lack of trolleys at Bolton Railway Station got her holiday off on the wrong track.
But she was unaware of a free service offered for customers who have special needs or require assistance.
First North Western promise if a customer phones their help-line 24 hours before they travel, they can book travel assistance.
This means they will be met as they arrive at the station and given the help they need and then met again at the end of the journey. If the customer has to change in the middle of the journey, they will be met again. But the angry passenger says as the service is only open to the elderly and people with special needs, it leaves a lot of people struggling. She said: "What about families with lots of children, or just the general public travelling with heavy suitcases? This service is only available to certain people, it is not a service for all. People travelling with luggage who are not eligible to use this service still need trolleys."
A spokesman for First North Western said: " First North Western has provided a number of customer luggage trolleys at Bolton station before but they have been subject to continual vandalism and theft."
To book assistance phone 0845 60 40231. The phone lines are open from 8am to 8pm week days and 9am to 5 pm at the weekend.
