MOTORISTS across Bolton face new delays next week as roadworks start in Harper Green, Tonge and Little Lever.
And in a week where drivers suffered delays and confusion as work began to repair seven bridges along stretches of the M60 near Worsley, all the new projects are likely to cause high levels of disruption.
Transco gas work continues in Plodder Lane from Slackford Lane in Harper Green -- causing temporary traffic signals and special stop and go boards. The work is expected to last another week.
Calvin Street in Tonge will remain closed for sewer connections. Motorists in Market Street, Little Lever face temporary traffic lights both tomorrow and Sunday as workmen conduct sewer connections. Lea Gate in Bradshaw also remains closed.
Transco work continues in Regent Road, Lostock, until Friday.
Bromley Cross will also suffer as work starts on Sunday near Longworth Road.
Motorists also face disruption next week in:
Burnden: Bridge refurbishment on Manchester Road. No access to Green Lane via Manchester Road and Crescent Road. Refurbishment of Skew Bridge affecting St Peters Way and Manchester Road.
Blackrod: Cable installation in Chorley Road, Westhoughton. Ends next month. Pavement work and Tesco construction due to end along De Haviland Way and Mansell Way within a week. Transco continue to lay 108 metres of new gas main in Crown Lane.
Low disruption water works continue in James Street, Mansell Way and Ox Hey Lane.
Bolton Central: Work starts for two months on Monday to repair pavements in Blackhorse Street. Work continues in Nelson Square and Churchgate subway. Transco work begins on Wednesday for a month in Bridgeman Place causing low level disruption.
Hulton Park: Quality bus corridor work is due to end on Monday in Newbrook Road. Work continues in Rumworth Road between Regent Road and Middlebrook Drive.
Kearsley: Transco work to lay 59 metres of pipe starts on Wednesday in Oakes Street until the end of August. Temporary traffic lights continue in Market Street and Ringley Road.
Bromley Cross: High levels of disruption are expected in Blackburn Road near Longworth Road on Sunday as BT start work in the area. Work will begin at 6am.
