THE Bolton League will attempt to win the MEN inter-league title for a sixth time tomorrow when they take on the Ribblesdale League at Edenfield.

And after making changes to the side for the last two games because of club calls, they have now reverted to what the selectors feel is their full-strength side.

It is the same side that played in the first round of the competition when they comprehensively beat the Saddleworth League.

Unfortunately Tonge's Dion Taljard has had to withdraw because of work commitments and although his batting talents will be missed, the introduction of Ian Stewart will keep the bowling up to strength

Stewart is back along with his club captain Simon Anderton, after both were involved in Tonge's Lancashire Knockout games. Anderton resumes his role as the inter-league skipper, taking over from Bradshaw's Dave Morris, who led the side in his absence to wins over the Northern League in the semi-final and the Bolton Association in the Trinity Cup.

"Dave has done a great job for us but accepted that Simon was appointed as inter-league skipper for the season," explained team manager Dave Seddon.

The Ribblesdale have home advantage in the final and under the rules of the competition which state that the venue for the final should be no more than 20 miles from Manchester, Edenfield is their only ground to meet those qualifications.

Game plan

"We know it is a very small ground, which isn't ideal, but it is the same for both sides and we just have to get on with it." said Dave Seddon.

"Nevertheless we feel we have a good chance. We have a game plan that has been successful so far this season and if we keep to it then I am confident we can come away with a win."

The League has appeared in 14 finals and won the competition five times with another being shared. LEAGUE LINE-UP Simon Anderton (Tonge) capt.
