LAST week was qualifying event number eight, and tomorrow is the Grand Final night! The following players finished in the top four and need to attend NO LATER than 8.15pm -- Paul Stevens 51; Ste Riley 41; Russ Marsh 31; Keith Southern 21.
The following eight players finished in the top 12, and must attend by 7pm. Any players not there when their name is called will be replaced by the next person in the order of merit -- Ste Brewis 21; Mark Kobryn 20; Gary Richards 17; Duane Yates, Lloyd Clarke 13; Alan Earith 12; Denis France 10; Colin Brooks 9; (13th) Tom Edge 8.
The next Competition starts on Sunday, August 19. All entries to be in by 8pm, phone 01204 524540.
The organisers have decided to restructure the qualifying points system. Two points will be awarded for attending. One point for the last 16, two points for the last eight, three points for the last four, four points for the losing finalist, and five points for the winner on the night. We believe that this will encourage players to attend regularly, rather than doing the bare minimum, thus improving the quality of the Competition. This will be reviewed again at the end of the next run.
