Race ace Adrian Top man Adrian Horwich Harriers' Adrian Selby pulled off an excellent win in Radcliffe AC's latest trail race.
Horwich's Rob Jackson came third and Radcliffe runner Michael Aspinall, 17, finished a fine fourth.
The first lady was Anne Powell of Leigh Harriers and Lesley Fisher of Burnden Road Runners was next, winning the over-40 section in fine style.
At over-60, another Radcliffe man, Northern Vets' Jim Rhodes, won the category to record race wins in every age category up to the present one. He will have to wait some little while to emulate Derek Clutterbuck, the Rochdale Harrier, taking the over-70s in the excellent time of 52.03. He must wait even longer to follow Ben Crook, who took the over-75s prize. What remarkable chaps these two are. The ever-youthful Burnden runner Tess Harrison won the over-60s, finishing just behind Bolton's Barbara Williams, first over-55.
Ninety-three runners finished the race, a little bit down on previous numbers, but the race was a still a successful event where high standards were set, leaving the organisers, Radcliffe AC, thinking it was definitely worth the effort of putting the race on.
