I WAS appalled to learn that it is proposed to close Bolton Magistrates Court and send cases to Manchester, Wigan and Bury.
If it were not tragic, this proposal would be laughable. A town the size of Bolton needs its own Magistrates Court. In any case how are the other courts able to deal with the extra load of work? By building new courts for them?
The situation is even more incredible in view of the fact that the Chancellor has already approved the provision of a new Magistrates Court in Bolton.
I would support any action taken to reverse this decision.
