ON Tuesday, August 7, my husband had reason to visit the Royal Bolton Hospital.
As he was going towards the main entrance, he beheld a sight that gobsmacked him -- dozens of people crowded around the entrance puffing away on their cigarettes and, literally, dozens and dozens of stamped-out "cigs" in the floor.
I thought the hospital has just spent a fortune on these so-called "smoking booths". So why are they not being used? Can anyone give an explanation for this? Probably not.
Well, all I can say is -- what a complete and utter waste of money that could have been spent on buying more beds, or trying to employ more nurses!
