WEALTHY people are choosing Bolton as one of the places where they want to live.
The town is the sixth most popular town in the North-west for men and women who are earning more than £60,000 per year.
In a new survey, Bolton was placed above the Wirral and Manchester as the place to be by the rich.
The town is also popular among young wealthy people.
Almost five per cent of the affluent population in Bolton was under the age of 30.
Cheshire topped the rich list, with Trafford in second and Warrington in third.
The research was based on Barclays' eight million current account holders.
John Church, managing director of Barclays Private Clients, said: "The trends among the young 'affluentials' are very interesting because they indicate where the next up and coming areas are likely to be."
