WARREN Hegg and Chris Schofield led a spirited fightback by Lancashire to set Leicestershire a challenging target of 191 in the weather-hit C&G Trophy semi-final at Grace Road.
Resuming on a perilous 84-6 from 26 overs after captain John Crawley's decision to bat backfired, Lancashire progressed to 190-9 off their 50 overs after Hegg hit his first ever 50 in the various guises of this competition.
With Schofield adding an invaluable 42 in a century stand Lancs were in a far better position than they could have imagined late yesterday afternoon.
