A SERVICE providing emergency dental treatment to Bolton people has expanded its hours of operation over weekends.
The service, a joint initiative between Community Health Care Bolton NHS Trust and the Wigan and Bolton Health Authority, has been run from Lever Chambers in Ashburner Street on Sunday mornings for a number of years.
The service runs between 9.30am and 11.30am and health chiefs have now decided to extend it to Saturdays.
From this weekend the service will run on Saturday between 9.30am and 11.30am at Lever Chambers.
A health authority spokesman said: "The service is primarily intended for people who, for whatever reason, are not registered with a dentist.
"If they are suffering from toothache they can either register with a dentist quickly or use the emergency service. It is run on a walk-in basis so no appointment is needed."
