Atherton secure title SPRING View batted first in their game with Atherton but Atherton's tight bowling and good fielding restricted them to a total of 215. This total was always achievable by Atherton to secure them the championship and was attained with a splendid innings of 25 from G Fox.

Blackrod hammered Adlington by 81 runs after racking up 288. Adlington batted first with 12 runs from B Townson scored 207, Blackrod's reply was emphatic led by R Day with 21 runs in addition to his four wickets for three runs.

A thriller was played out between Little Hulton and Daisy Hill. An excellent game of cricket ended with Little Hulton grabbing two runs from the final ball to tie the game at 252.

Another local derby was played out between Elton and Walshaw. Elton needed victory to keep their bid for the championship alive but Walshaw obviously had other ideas, and with 15 runs from J Pilling and two wickets for five runs by C Tremparth secured Walshaw's victory by 33 runs.
