IN reply to the reader's letter (BEN Wednesday August 8) from J & M Woodruff, Station Road, Blackrod, we the committee members for this campaign against the proposed coal yard on Station Road would like to clarify that certain statements in this article were misleading.
We have at no time been led to believe that Dickinson's were making a lorry park, we have been aware that it is to be a recycling plant for building waste and this will not be operational for quite some time.
The letters recently received were not in connection with Dickinson's, but notification of the coal storage and distribution application which the company will build on land rented from Dickinson's.
The recycling plant and coal yard will operate from the same site.
Eileen Jackson
Chairman of the Station Road Residents' Committee.
