IT was with dismay that I read in last night's BEN that Armstrongs Waste Management, on behalf of BT Cellnet, have applied for planning permission for the erection of a 20m (150ft) high telecommunications mast, antenna, three BT air wave antenna and an equipment cabin, on their site on Chorley New Road, Horwich.

This site is close to a pre-school nursery, at least four primary schools, one of which is to be relocated even nearer to the site and is in a densely populated area.

This mast must not be allowed to be erected, the health of our children, grandchildren and ourselves is as risk.

Please write at once to make your views known, after all we are getting quite used to protesting in Horwich and Blackrod.
