POLICE in Bolton are launching a campaign to stop gay men, lesbians and bisexuals becoming the targets of abuse and assaults.
A booklet launched today aims to tell people how and where to report crime against them.
The county-wide project will be supported by the launch of Britain's first lesbian and gay policing web-site, www.gmp.police.uk/lgbt.htm, which will offer more information and advice.
Each individual police division in the county, including Bolton, has produced its own publication which will give details of specially-trained local officers to whom hate crimes can be reported.
The publication is free and will be available in libraries, citizens' advice centres, bars, public places and health centres.
