DETECTIVES have ruled out a number of suspects in their search for a man who attempted to abduct a five-year-old girl.
Police have been making inquiries in the Farnworth area since the child was nearly kidnapped while she played in Dixon Green Park last Friday afternoon.
An Asian man took her by the hand and tried to lead her away. A 16-year-old boy became suspicious and approached the offender, who then fled. Detective Inspector Andy Aston said: "The investigation is continuing and we appeal for anyone with information to come forward."
The offender was said to be aged in his late 40s to early 50s, of slim build, with grey hair, and wore a multi-coloured shirt or sweater and grey trousers.
Anyone with information should call Bolton Central CID on 0161 856 5653 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
