A FOOTBRIDGE in Worsley will be closed next week as improvement work takes place.
Refurbishment work on the footbridge at The Green, is expected to take six weeks from Monday.
L.B. Construction will carry out the £37,000 contract.
Existing cobbles will be taken up and cleaned while the steel decking underneath is cleaned and waterproofed, then the cobbles will then be put back over the decking.
All metal work will be repainted and a handrail will be installed to assist pedestrians.
Funding for the work comes from the Block Three Transport Capital Programme and it has been supported and assisted by the Worsley Village Community Association.
Pedestrians will not be able to use the bridge during the works and will be diverted via Worsley Road and Barton Road.
