POLICE were due to interview people in Farnworth today, a week after the attempted abduction of a five-year-old girl.
Officers were talking to members of the public walking near Dixon Green Park, where the child was taken by the hand and led away.
Only the actions of a teenage boy prevented the girl being kidnapped.
The incident happened last Friday at 4.15pm and officers were hoping people walking near the park today at the corner of Harrowby Street and Mossfield Road, would be able to give vital details.
Det Insp Andy Aston, of Bolton Central CID, said: "Police officers will be in the area canvassing to see if they can get any more information."
The man suspected of the attempted abduction was Asian, in his late 40s to early 50s, of slim build, with grey hair. He was wearing a multi-coloured shirt or jumper and grey trousers.
