Bolton seniors triumph BOLTON beat Bury 169-111 in the Senior Inter League match, and Bolton also won the series of games 5-3.
Bury batted first and dismissed Bolton for 46 runs. Bolton then batted and lost seven batters quickly, but some splendid batting by Julie Bluer 28 runs, Alison Sanders 24, Karen Thresh 19 and Vicky Hill 16 runs helped Bolton to score a total of 107 runs. When Bury batted a second time, although they started brightly they then lost batters and were dismissed for 65 runs.
Bolton had to bat again, just needing five runs for victory, and the first three balls bowled put Bolton in front. Vicky Hill 20 runs and Karen Thresh 14 runs were the main scorers in the second innings total of 62.
