A ROMANIAN orphan adopted by a local couple ran around Bolton Wanderers' Reebok pitch to raise money for street children in her home country.
Whites fan Madalina Richardson, aged nine, did the sponsored run around the pitch with friends Rachel Bannister, Megan Warburton and Aaron Jones. Together they raised about £300.
Madalina was adopted by her step-parents, David and Kath Richardson, from Smithills, exactly four years ago today. Kath said: "Madalina wanted to do something for the children in her home country. She is a complete Wanderers nut and this seemed like the best way to do it.
"Some of the families in Romania are extremely poor and this money will go towards buying them food and other essential items."
Kath will take the money out to Romania on a visit next month.
