This photograph of workers from De Havilland at Lostock (probably later better remembered as British Aerospace) at Moor Lane bus station where they had gathered to go on a trip to Llandudno has been sent to me by Mr Tom Hall.
He tells me that it was taken between 1947 and 1950 . . . "and I know that a lot of Bolton people would like to see it, even young people who might get to see their grandads." Mr Hall worked for 35 years at Lostock, at first on propellers and then on missile, and "it was called Hawker Siddeley when I retired". He names some of the people shown as Allan Dawson, Percy Haddock, Bob Whittle, Eddie Owen, Bill Birchall, Sam Maykin, Bill Tomkins, William Brown, Dick Howarth, Harold Gibson, Les Gibson, Cliff Crompton, Jack Wolstenholme, Fred Harrison, Frank Nolan, Bill Wildish, Jack Seddon, Tom Hall, Bill Bromilow, Percy Berry, John Livesey, Frank Beatty, Bill Shaw.
Incidentally, if anyone remembers Mr Hall, and would like to contact him, his address is 37A Nottingham Road, Codnor, Nr Ripley, Derbyshire.
