REGARDING the letter entitled "War graves in Crete" (BEN, August 11) from Judith and Norman Jackson.
Flight Sgt Jack Campbell, one of the airmen mentioned, was my uncle. He was killed in Crete in 1944, aged 21. I have always hoped to go to see the grave, but never managed it and, as I now have cancer, I know I never will. I wish to say a heartfelt thank you through your pages to this most caring couple, for the pictures they took and for the letter to the BEN, or I would never have known. Judith also went out of her way to bring me the pictures.
We hear so much of uncaring, hurtful deeds. I, and my brother, Colin, (who also has poor health), wish to record through the BEN the wonderful deed this couple did during their holiday in Crete, to make us both so happy.
