IN response to the letter printed in the BEN on Wednesday, August 15, "Parking warning".
A few years ago on a Saturday afternoon around 3.15pm, I was parked in the same area with my father's disabled badges displayed correctly; just the back wheels of my car were parked on the faint lines. I was only walking my father to Boots the Chemist to have an eye test.
Just a few minutes later I returned to the car in order to move it into a designated parking spot, I had been issued with "THE TICKET".
I did immediately report the incident to the police station, and I criticised the faint paint markings. Unfortunately, it is not their responsibility, and, reluctantly, I had to pay the required fine. Many times since then I have noticed cars parked in that area with no orange badges, and for much longer, and they have not been issued with a ticket.
