BUS users travelling on the 506 and 507 services will face disruption over the coming weeks.

Passengers are being asked to be patient as bus bosses change part of the route due to major roadworks.

The route from Bolton to Bradshaw was thrown into chaos when it was announced that Lea Gate in Bradshaw was to temporarily close.

Bus users contacted First Manchester and the BEN to raise their concern and bus bosses have now come up with a solution.

For the duration of the work the 507 will terminate at the bus turning circle in Bolton Road, Bradshaw. It will then return on the inward journey to Bolton as a 506.

The 506 will operate a normal route to Hardy Mill Lane and Longsight but will turn left into Longsight Lane, left into Hough Fold Way, right into South Drive, right into Stitch Mi Lane and then on to the 507 route to Bolton.

To provide travel from Safeway to Nab Gate, alternate 506 journeys will operate from Stitch Mi Lane, turning left into South Drive, left into Hough Fold Way, right into Longsight Lane, right again into Longsight and Hardy Mill Lane before continuing on the normal route.

Lea Gate is undergoing work to lay a new gas pipe and resurfacing and is expected to be closed for five weeks.

A spokesman for First Manchester said: "We have done the best we can to keep disruption for passengers to a minimum."
