SAM Allardyce's bid to sign French defender Sylvain Distin looks like failing for the third and final time.

The Wanderers' boss says he has lost patience with the Paris St Germain centre-back.

It was confirmed earlier this week that negotiations were taking place to bring Distin to the Reebok. After two previous attempts to lure him had failed, a £3.5 million, four-year deal finally seemed to be on the cards until Allardyce was shocked to hear the player was also talking to Newcastle United.

The PSG star is now back in France and the Bolton boss told supporters at the BWSA monthly meeting last night that neither Wanderers nor Newcastle will be pursuing their interest.
