RESIDENTS are appealing to Bolton Wanderers fans to stop blocking their streets on match nights.
Angry homeowners living off Chorley New Road, Horwich, are dreading the Trotters' Premiership season because of the army of car drivers.
Despite police signs asking fans to park at the Reebok Stadium, many drivers are turning a blind eye, according to the residents.
Mr Craig Dent, a resident on the doorstep of the ground, claims lives are being put at risk with young children being kept indoors on match days and nights.
Mr Dent said: "The back streets are being blocked in by drivers who do not want to pay the £5 at Bolton Wanderers.
"On the last game of the season, a child was nearly knocked over here because of the parking problems.
"I have a seven year old daughter and we just can't let her play out when there's a game on because of the cars.
"All the parents around here are fed up of it. Nobody seems to care that a child could be killed."
Mr Dent claimed that cars flouting the polite police notices included top of the range models.
He said: "I'm sure that they can easily afford the parking fee."
