THE University of Edinburgh, from a WRIGHT Foundation initiative, is conducting a three-year UK research study into GP Exercise Referral - this is where a GP, practice nurse or hospital department refers a patient to a leisure centre for a course of exercise to benefit their specific medical or health condition.
The initial aim of the research study is to establish how many Exercise Referral Schemes are operating in the UK.
The Research Team would very much like to hear from any readers who attend, or have attended or even know of such a GP referral scheme in their area. Any operators, please also make contact.
Your readers' response will be invaluable to our initial research into this matter.
If you can help please contact our ACTIONLINE on 01382 451146. Alternatively drop us a letter to Exercise Referral Study, PO Box 159, Dundee DD1 9HF. Fax 01382 451163
