BUSINESSES have come to the rescue of young soccer players by kitting out for the new season.
The Under-15s' A and B teams at St Matthew's Church, Halliwell, are ready for the season thanks to their local Co-op Late Shop and the Bolton branch of Max Value.
Team boss Trevor Lester put the call out for businesses to help his footballers look the part when they take to the field.
Mr Lester struck gold when the stores agreed to provide new kits.
The A team was awarded £300-worth of kit from the Co-op and a community award certificate.
The B team received £150 from Max Value to buy new shirts.
Both organisations will now have their names displayed on the team shirts when they play.
Mr Lester said: "We are very grateful to both organisations for supporting the club and we are now looking forward to a successful season."
