BOTTOM club Astley and Tyldesley were probably as surprised as anyone else when they picked up their second win of the season on Saturday.
Bowled out for 131 by Standish, their bowlers took some early punishment from Tripathi, Paul Hassan and Simon Maiden and another defeat looked on the cards.
Then Simon Nicklin got in on the act and his bowling return of three wickets for six runs changed the game. Suddenly it was Standish who were struggling and nervous at the crease yet they still had the upper hand as the last pair crept towards the target. Then with two balls remaining Astley struck the telling blow dismissing the Wigan side for 127 - four runs short of the target.
