REGARDING the money allocated by the government for hospital staff.
Is it wrong that they should have better facilities at work? I don't think so. They do a fine job under very difficult circumstances at all levels. Where would any of us be without them? Surely improved morale will have a knock-on effect on patients that can only make things better for everyone concerned.
Should the Trust have turned the extra cash windfall down because conditions were attached over which it had no control? Of course not. Councillor Lever can't have it both ways, if he agrees that staff should have a better working environment, then he should applaud the Trust for consulting their employees on how to spend the money.
