A CENTRE which helps people to live independently is being officially reopened next week following refurbishment.
Eldon Street High Dependency Unit is a complex of 32 flats, specifically for vulnerable older people, many of whom live alone.
An investment of £130,000, funded by Bolton Council's housing and social services departments, has seen the refurbishment of the communal areas of the Tonge Moor based unit, as well as the erection of security fencing around the building. Residents helped with the design of the new look.
Bolton Council runs two more high dependency units - Campbell House in Farnworth and Merton in Deane both of which have been refurbished in recent years.
