THE Environment Agency wants North-west firms to contribute to a new database of companies involved in recycling industrial and commercial waste. It is designed to provide a one-stop directory of companies and organisations which recycle or re-use waste material.
It is hoped it will help the agency answer the many requests it receives from businesses across the region which have waste to recycle. The agency's database is widely available to businesses and local authorities.
Nicola Von Wurzbach, the Environment Agency's waste licensing officer, said: "We are keen to hear from companies in the North-west who can provide recycling services for businesses.
"By providing this kind of information the agency can help businesses save on waste disposal costs and reduce the burden on the environment."
Companies which want a registration form for the recycling database should contact Nicola Von Wurzbach, Environment Agency, Appleton House, 430 Birchwood Boulevard, Warrington, WA3 7WD, phone 01925 840000, ext 3533.
