A MAN was taken to hospital suffering from whiplash injuries after being involved in a four-vehicle crash in Little Hulton.

The middle-aged man had to be cut free from his Peugeot 405 by firefighters and was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment.

The accident happened in Manchester Road West at 2.35pm yesterday.

His car was badly damaged in the crash, which also involved a seven-and-a-half tonne lorry, a Mercedes 220 and a Vauxhall Nova.

Police are interviewing witnesses to determine the cause of the crash.

No one else was injured in the accident.
