ELDERLY people are working together in Bury to record a century of achievement by the town's library service.
A dozen members of the Housebound Library Service, aged between 75 and 95, are taking part in the new arts project.
As part of Bury Library's Centenary Year, the group is working with community artist Brian Raymond and Bury Metro Reminiscence worker Jean Lonsdale on an eye-catching banner.
When complete it will celebrate the Library Service and the difference it has made to the lives of Bury people over the last 100 years.
Cllr Siobhan Costello, Bury Metro's Arts and Culture spokesman, said: "Participants will be involved in a range of activities. These will include fabric painting, embroidery, appliqu and design work. Once their work is completed, the banner will go on display in Bury Library and will be very much part of the centenary celebrations."
The project, based at The Wall Shop on Topping Fold Road, Bury, has been made possible due to a partnership of the Health Action Zone and Bury Metro Libraries.
