A COMMUNITY radio station intends to bring the town alive this weekend.
Diversity in Barrier Communications will base itself in Victoria Square to provide a fitting end to Bolton Festival.
DBBC Bolton Market Radio, the volunteer training agency, has been responsible for the vibrant entertainment which has been almost ever-present on the town hall steps.
Today, as the Festival draws to a close, the town centre will once again be transformed into a stage for some of the area's most talented youngsters.
Among those appearing will be Hannah Morris, one of the station's patrons.
Hannah will headline a series of young entertainers, including youngsters from the Farnworth Academy of Performing Arts.
Dorothy Martland, project manager, said: "Our aim is to provide a community station.
"These roadshows give children the terrific experience of performing in front of such big crowds.
"They are marvellous at what they do. Our young volunteers also have a great time -- even those working behind the scenes.
"It is giving them a taste of being involved in a major community event."
The entertainment starts at 11am.
Shoppers can sample the full range of multi-cultural entertainment today, as the young Shree Swaminarayan Temple dancers perform in the Bolton Art Gallery on Le Mans Crescent, from 2pm to 3pm.
