AN England supporter from Bolton has been banned from flying to Germany to attend tonight's big match.

Martin Hulstone, aged 30, man was stopped by police officers in Kent who have been preventing known troublemakers from making their way over to Munich for the World Cup qualifier.

Mr Hulstone appeared before Folkestone Magistrates where he was handed a two-year banning order, stopping him from attending England matches home or away.

He was stopped by police after they discovered that he had a recent conviction for a public order offence.

Mr Hulstone is expected to appeal against the ban, saying the previous offence was not football related.

Nine other known trouble makers from Bolton, who already had recent football-related convictions, have been ordered to hand in their passports.

The men, all Wanderers supporters who were involved in trouble in or around the Reebok Stadium, were sent letters last week informing them they must leave their documents at police stations in the town.

They can only pick them up 24 hours after the England versus Germany game finishes.

Police in the country stopped more than 50 suspected troublemakers travelling to Germany yesterday using the new laws brought in after the trouble at Euro 2000.

An officer from Bolton police's Football Intelligence Unit was at Manchester Airport, helping the operation.

Police in Germany said 30 English and German fans were arrested last night after fighting near Frankfurt's railway station.

There was little trouble in Munich with just two supporters arrested for unspecified offences.

There will be 800 police on the streets today, including 300 trained in riot control and 300 border police patrolling transport systems
