I WRITE as a follow-on to my previous letter entitled "More misery on car park", published in the BEN, on Monday, August 27, where the parking machine only acknowledged £1.70 instead of £1.80, resulting in my £20 fine.
My next step was to write to the councillor concerned with parking complaints, and I am pleased to say that my fine has now been cancelled.
I would like to thank the councillor concerned for interceding on my behalf, but more importantly for believing me. I would also like to thank the BEN for printing my letter.
In this case justice has prevailed, but many others are not so lucky. Is it not time we had a review of the whole parking system in Bolton?
For instance, Bath Street Car Park was much better when there was a little shed just inside the car park, where a man issued a ticket on entry and you paid as you left. There were no mistakes then, and I am sure a lot less aggro.
