Walkden are only one game away from securing their first Warburton's Bolton League title in seven years after a crushing eight wicket win over strugglers Little Lever on Sunday.

They skittled the visitors out for a meagre 52 with John Smith taking 5-21 in 14 overs. In reply Walkden took just 14 overs to reach their target.

Kearsley ensured the title race would go to the final game of the season when they hammered Greenmount by seven wickets. The visitors were all out for 79 with Mel Whittle taking 5-37 and deputy pro Rizwan Saeed 3-14. Kearsley knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets with John Ratledge 26 and Jordan Thornley 26.

Victories have been few and far between for Heaton this season but they raced to an equally impressive eight wicket win over Farnworth who were bowled out for 67.

Narendra Hirwani took 5-36 and Jonathan Fearick 4-30. Andy Patterson's 45 ensured there would be no upsets for Heaton.

Eagley too were in impressive form inflicting one of the worst defeats on Bradshaw in the club's history. The home side were all out for 87 with Mahboob grabbing his 93rd wicket of the season with 6-30. In reply Eagley overtook the target in only 12.2 overs without losing a wicket, with pro Ian Mitchell unbeaten on 49, only a handful of runs away from 1,000 for the season.

Astley Bridge notched up their second nine wicket win of the weekend over Farnworth Social Circle.

The visitors made 135 with Mike Ashworth contributing 66 but had no answer to Tim Barry who grabbed 6-24. In reply Astley Bridge were led by Paul Stafford who smashed 7x6s and 6x4s in his 86. Pro Jadhav remained unbeaten on 41.

Westhoughton continued in winning ways with a 42 run victory over rivals Horwich.

The visitors made 172-8 with pro Brad White 93 not out and Alan Gaskell 28. Martin Ainscough returned 4-38. Horwich were all out for 130 despite Grant Long's efforts. He had reached when he was the last wicket to fall. Mike Crookson took 4-70 and Patel 3-29. Darren Preston bowled 10 overs and took two wickets for just 11 runs.

Tonge were in party mood at Egerton having given up any chance of the championship and shuffled their battling line-up around. It did not deter Dion Taljard who made 51 or Steve Shepley 43 as Tonge made 208-9. Paul Burton took 5-54. In reply Egerton hung on at 161-8 with Mike Ward 73, denied carrying his bat for the second time in two days when he was out in the 49th over.
