POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robber threatened to stick a syringe in a man's throat unless he handed over cash.
The thief -- who stole £45 -- forced the needle against the 26-year-old man's neck as he was walking along King Street in Bolton town centre.
The thief, who had a burn mark on his right hand, was accompanied by another man and a woman. They all ran off after the robbery.
The attacker is described as white, aged 25 to 30, 6ft 2ins tall, of stocky build, gaunt looking, and unshaven with short, mousey hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured bomber jacket and black jeans.
The second man was aged 20 to 25, 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with short blond hair, and was wearing a grey Fila sweatshirt and grey Reebok tracksuit bottoms.
The woman was aged 20 to 23, 5ft 10ins tall, with long red permed hair, of skinny build, and was wearing a red Sprayway jacket.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery, which happened at 12.30pm on Friday, August 31, is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050, or the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
