IN the Premier Division of the Pioneer Sunday League, Gatehouse and Commercial had a tremendous game. Commercial went in front with a well taken goal from Waring, only to let the lead slip just before half time when Morgan equalised for Gatehouse.
In the second half Hornby put Commercial back in front after a well worked corner. After 65 minutes they were level again, when Fitton equalised with a header from another corner. Gatehouse went in front for the first time, when Morgan got his second goal from the penalty spot to seal all three points.
Spread Eagle recorded a 3-2 victory away to Hulton Lane, with goals coming from Peter Norris and Wes Gallagher with two. Hulton Lane replied with two goals from Simon Walsh.
King William had an excellent 3-0 victory at home to Masons.
In Division One Rigby Taylor are the leaders, with a 7-0 victory over Sharples. Goalscorers were Saunders and Gibbons with two each, Chantler, Fitton and Bridge all with one.
Royal Hotel are level at the top after a 6-2 victory against Faux Forest.
Queens had an excellent 4-1 away win against Hitachi. Queens goalscorers were Harold with two, McGuire and Dunn. Kirby replied for Hitachi.
Railway and Great Lever had a seven goal thriller, with Great Lever winning by the odd goal, on target for Great Lever was Benger, Cowgill, Bailey and Vasaya. Pritchard and Williams replied for Railway.
Highest scorers of the day were Samba, with a 12-0 victory over G H Maughan, with Price and Cover both scoring hat-tricks.
