I HAVE been distressed reading the saga of the total lack of compassion by the Church regarding the headstones in Christ Church graveyard. Monday's story finally made me put pen to paper when I read one official Church statement from "Men of God"! They don't want all sorts of "paraphernalia" on headstones. To use such a word in connection with a deceased young woman and her grieving parents beggars belief! If these people really feel they cannot allow people to grieve in a way that helps them, could they not just leave these "offending" stones and then not permit any more to be erected?
Surely these rules are man-made, or could someone please show me one tablet of stone brought down from one mountain!
