THE Chorley gardener is a fascinating creature, often found in dense undergrowth seeking out new things to grow...
At least that's what Citizen photographer John Ellis found at the Red Rose County Garden Festival, Astley Park, when he discovered keen gardener Stan Crabtree peeking out from behind his plants.
People from all over Chorley flocked to the event, which used to be known as the Whalley Abbey Autumn Garden Festival, but changed its name when it relocated to the new venue.
Among the sights was a prestigious showcase of 100 stands of quality shopping, with everything from gardening and garden accessories to crafts fine foods and wines on sale.
There was also a busy children's festival, music for everyone and a kite flying arena.
And despite the threat of rain everyone enjoyed a day to remember!
