RESIDENTS are red with anger over problems surrounding a village green.
Some residents living close to green in the centre of Croston have complained, claiming it is being used by noisy drunken youths.
And not only that, The Citizen received a call from a resident complaining the green was cluttered with too many features, such as benches, monuments, noticeboards.
The person, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "There are just too many things on it. It doesn't look like a village green ought to."
Concerned residents say the area is being used by teenagers who congregate around a donated bench to drink at night.
Ward councillor, Conservative Doreen Dickinson, said: "Some old people have complained about children playing on the memorial in the orchard at night.
"The teenagers come at 10pm and after they have finished they leave all their cans on the floor.
"The residents are left to pick up all the litter after them and they would like the memorial moved."
Fellow Conservative ward councillor Helen Sutton said: "Everything on the green is on there for a reason. Anyone who has a legitimate complaint should come to a parish council meeting.
"The parish council has been looking at the green and ways it can improve it."
