A GROUP of people helped to make two banners to commemorate the Bolton Show.
The large silk paintings were produced by residents who went along to the Community Marquee which was sponsored by The East Bolton Regeneration - SRB6 Partnership.
Event organiser Saskia Ritchie from Art Adventures was overwhelmed at the response.
She said: "People were really keen to try their hand at painting on silk, and more than 1000 silk-painted cards were produced. The youngest participant was just under two years old, and the oldest was over 80! As well as producing cards we gave people the opportunity to paint a section of the banner, and more than 300 people took up the challenge."
Cllr Frank White, chair of the SRB6 Partnership said: "Art is a wonderful medium for bringing together different age groups. The project was aimed at raising awareness of the regeneration happening in East Bolton and to get people in the area talking about it."
The banner will be on display at the Albert Halls from January 7 to March 8, 2002, as part of an exhibition called Celebrate! SRB6.
