LRC's Mike Smith once again proved that he is having the season of his life by beating all the other club members in a 10 mile time trial not once but twice on Saturday afternoon.
Mike requested an early start in the open event to allow him to ride the tandem event later in the afternoon with his son Andrew.
His two finishing times were only 12 seconds different; 21:57 on his own and then 22:11 when partnered by Andrew.
The other club riders in the event were, Lee McCarty 23:11, Dene Fisher 23:28, Frank Mackin 25:01, Ian Ainsworth 25:20, Peter Graham 26:08 and John Partington 28:20.
Earlier in the week Frank and Peter rode another 10 mile event and finished in times of 23:50 and 24:42 respectively.
LRC club runs will continue throughout the coming months with clubrunners normally meeting outside the Royal Oak pub on Tonge Moor Road at 09:00 on Sunday mornings. The ride on September 9th will be to the Farmhouse Cafe at Knott End.
Anyone wishing to join the run should turn up on the day with a roadbike (and spare inner tube - just in case!) you will be made very welcome.
