IF all the moaners who are unhappy with car parking facilities and service in Bolton and object to paying fines, may I recommend that they come to Market Street Westhoughton.

They could then park on double yellow lines for hours, outside shops and banks and straight across the narrow street from someone else parked on the other side, thus preventing easy passing for vehicles, including buses, going in opposite directions.

It will be a bit sad if someone gets killed or if a few cars get wrecked -- but it is so convenient.

The average number illegally parked is from five or six at quiet times, and around 17 to 20 when busy, in a street around 200 yards long.
