I HAVE long been interested in the life of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, and would love to find out more about her.
I have a few letters in my possession, in her own handwriting and written in the 1930s, which relate to her Chairmanship of a charity based at Tower Cressey in Kensington.
From these letters, she appears to be a highly intelligent, competent and caring lady. I also remember seeing her at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships when she was well into her 90s!
If any of your readers have any personal memories of Princess Alice, I would be delighted if they would contact me. So many personal memories are lost as time goes by and I would enjoy compiling a small collection while it is still possible.
