A SHORTAGE of volunteer drivers in Bolton has forced the region's cancer hospital to appeal for help from kind-hearted motorists.
Drivers are needed to tow a mobile information unit across the North-west to promote the Christie Hospital at special events.
Caravan owners used to towing are being asked to come forward to help with taking the compact unit to festivals, fairs and fundraising events.
Regional appeals officer Jacky Plant said: "The unit is invaluable. It houses information stands, lots of literature about the hospital's work, display space for the sale of cuddly toys and shelter from the elements for our hardworking fund-raisers.
"Decorated with the Christie logo, it is a bold commercial for the hospital and we want it to be seen in as many places as possible."
Those who can help should contact the appeals office at the hospital on 0161 446 3988.
