A BOLTON double act is set to dominate proceedings at a Lancaster theatre next month.
The "Bolton Two" are playwright Jim Cartwright and Dukes Theatre's artistic director, Ian Hastings.
Together they will be playing a prominent role in staging the theatre's first major production of the new season.
"Two", written by Jim Cartwright, will run from October 5 to 27.
Both Jim and Ian hail from Farnworth. But that is not where the connection ends.
A spokesman for the theatre said: "Jim insists that Ian taught him in acting workshops a long time ago. Unfortunately, Ian can not remember this -- and thinks maybe it is simply a ploy to make him feel old!"
The play will star Graham Fellows, better known as television comic John Shuttleworth, and Carol Holt, a regular face at Bolton Octagon.
"Two" is set in a northern pub where the landlord and landlady greet their customers with a friendly banter which only hides their contempt for one another.
However, the landlord and his wife are not the only characters under public view -- 12 of their regulars pay visits, drawing the audience into their lives.
