POLICE chiefs have launched an appeal for new canine recruits for their dog training section.
They must be either German Shepherds or other large working animals, be between one and two years old and have a lively but steady temperament.
The new intake will begin the 13-week course on September 14, which will involve obedience, searching techniques and other criminal work.
Greater Manchester Police would like to hear from anyone who, for whatever reason, is looking to find a new home for their pet.
If you think your dog fits the bill, please call 0161 856 1791, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
