Alan and Mark the tops ALAN Brocklehurst and Mark Williams (Papermakers) were in top form, beating England player Les Fitton and Tina Fitton (Woolpack), in an exciting final to win the Bill Lennard Memorial Cup in aid of St Ann's Hospice at the Shirt Club, Radcliffe.
Quarter finals Brocklehurst and Williams beat Kay Boyes and Tricia Carter, David Savery and Jim Warburton beat Kevin and Darron Lomas, L Fitton and T Fitton beat Lee Hartley and Roy Haycock, Ken and Keith Hartley beat Doreen Taylor and Derek Hill.
Semi finals Brocklehurst and Williams beat Savery and Warburton, Fitton and Fitton beat K and K Hartley.
In the final, best of three games 701 up, Brocklehurst and Williams 135 100 (3) 98 97 96 95, beat Fitton and Fitton 140 134 100 (2) 98 96 95. 2-0.
In the High Score Competition -- Kay Boyes 81; Julia Daly 83; Tina Fitton 95; Doreen Taylor 133; D Savery, J Warburton, D Hill, R Haycock 100; L Hartley, M Williams, A Brocklehurst 135; Ken Hartley 140; Keith Hartley, Les Fitton 180. The trophy going to Les Fitton in a play-off scoring 377 in nine darts.
The Cup and trophies were presented by Radcliffe Ladies Darts Secretary Chris Hartley, and the match raised £103 for St Ann's Hospice.
